Let me see your knits

IMG_4199

Two posts in as many days....what!

Just thought i would pop in to let you all know that i have FINALLY set up a customer gallery on my website.

I adore seeing what you have all been making and its only fair to have a space where you can show them off, and I can boast about how awesome my peeps are.

I have only uploaded the photos that i have taken but feel free to send me your own pics to either fluphshop@gmail.com, message me on facebook at fluphshop, tweet us @fluphshop  or use the hastag #fluphygoodness over on Instagram.
Or just come in wearing your finished item and swoosh it about the place!

Oh also let me know what yarn you used and what pattern, if you used one :)

I LOVE HATS!!

So I am currently obsessed with knitting hats! They are quick, simple, and who doesn't need a cosy hat! So my latest hat was a sample for the shop trying to come up with a good way to show off the beautiful Margarita from Adriafil. Its a wrapped cotton aran weight yarn that looks like beads! I was a bit sceptical at first of how nicely it would knit up, but man was i shocked! i really enjoying using this yarn. I decided to team it up with the super smooshy Karisma from drops and do almost a bee hive looking hat. Its got a long rib to start with so you can roll it up, and alternating rows of knit and purl! So this pattern is free when you buy the required yarn, you only need one ball of each and you are sorted! What do you think?

P.S Arthur would like you all to know that he has had his hair cut, and he isnt happy about it! Also a huge thank you to my beautiful models, Nicola and Fern!

carpets and paint

So today was meant to be my entry date. Turns out there is still another lease to sign, typical, me jumping the gun. Oh well it just gives me more time to organise more of the behind the scene stuff.  I still got everything i needed done today, which was store all the paint, a chair and the till in the shop and get the carpets cleaned. Oh my word, they were proper rank! Luckily i know someone who is super good at carpet cleaning, madam Sarah. Just look at these photos! I really couldn't get over the mucky water that came out of the cleaning machine.

Paint, So as I said in the last post I would keep you up to date with the paint situation. I ended up venturing into one of the industrial estates in Dundee to visit the Dulux centre, where the most helpful lady held my hand (not actually) and I walked away with the most perfect shade of grey paint for my outside, and a cheeky 10% discount, i believe for looking so scared!
The rest of the paint i acquired through BnQ using the old mans old people discount and a huge buy one get one half price on all the paint i got. Massive savings. Im so excited about all the money im saving, being not very good with my own finances, im being super careful with the shops.

Anyhows, I'm sure you are all super bored with my paint chat, ooooh look clean carpets!!!

So so close

I have a few bits of good news, however I am keeping it close to my chest for the moment, in case I jinx it.
However I will say that I WILL be open before Christmas and currently I am attempting to buy yarn that's not just for me...so difficult.

I have done one order this eve but I am giving in for the moment to go email my Dad and do some more of my GIANT crochet unicorn whilst I fight the dog for the last bit of pizza!

Merch...well kind of!

Firstly let me apologise for the terrible quality of these photos, a photographer I am not, also it was dark when I took them!
ANYWAY, I just really wanted to show you what my friend Hannah made for me at school (uni) when she was meant to be working! Aren't they amazing, the bag is well used already for toting about all the knitting projects I seem to have going on at the moment, and the necklace I have barley had off. So a massive thank you to Hannah, you are so clever!
